How Much is Too Much? Something About Blogging Network

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   in the hope of furnishing it’s search users better results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. Google started this change almost one year ago, no wonder I saw a few of my keywords’ ranks dropped like a rock, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it becomes clear that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to links crammed sites being downgraded by google.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers,  the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.

Examples will be great for explanation. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started with this keyword, Lumber Tarp, of course with old way of link building, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, eventually the keyword could be found on first page, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, almost no plain links, the rank for this keyword is making me real happy. Old and outdated linking campaign lost to content linking, what’s next? Actually this is all about content, when you create unique and quality content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, kaiya eve couture , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, the result? I got nice ranking for a few realy nice keywords now. As we can see, blog marketing with great content is the way to go. If you can build a group of your own blogs, such as http://www.mfrexpress.com/towing-tie-down-c-24_118.html, then it will be easier to do article marketing.

Remember content is king, you just need to create content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, i.e., selling online or improve your search rankings, now all we have to do is to share our love for creating and sharing great content and not to worry about the search results every day. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, google will index a new article on ezine promptly, of course your posts on some blogs will be indexed real fast as well, I believe you should see for yourself, take http://www.mfrexpress.com/cargo-control-tie-down-c-2_7.html as an example, quality content, nice presentation, indexed by google, this article is a good example of article marketing.

Last but not least, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. For wordpress blogs, I recommend twitter tools, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, set up API credentials in your twitter tools option, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s easy and really useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.

How to Paint Hydrangeas in Chinese Brush Painting with Henry Li(HD)

Monday, June 18th, 2012

top chinese painting In this painting, I drew my inspirations, first, from my late teacher Zhang Zhengyin, who sent me a sample painting with white hydrangeas 24 years ago when I just came to the USA; and second, from the real flowers. When I look at hydrangeas it reminds me of fireworks for some reason, maybe because of the timing that 4th of July is just around the corner but also the shape and the colors of the hydrangea flowers, all that set the mood of this painting. I hope you enjoy watching the whole process although might be a little too long. Like I said in my chrysanthemum class, which will be shown next month in my class, drawing those flower petals one by one makes us calm down and brings inner peace to our mind. So, thanks for your patience!
For those of you who likes to take an online class from me now it’s time to register, the class will start on July 16th. For more info please visit https://www.blueheronarts.com/information.php?info_id=5

Someone asked me how to make a piece of paper into he fan face shape, and I tried to show in this photo. Just fold it inhalf and then start from the center to make multiple slant folds, with narrower bottom and wider top. Then cut the top and bottom off. Here you go the fan face. The paper used is quite bigger than you might think you need, you may use your wasted painting or newspaper to try this.

Happy 4th of July!

God bless America!

Henry

P.S. the paper I used was antique-colored Xuan which you can purchase from our online store

Mountain 山 in Chinese Calligraphy Styles

Monday, June 18th, 2012

top chinese calligraphy Evolution of Chinese calligraphy styles http://www.youtube.com/user/artvirtue?feature=mhum#g/c/9EBCD667B6B418BD

Different styles of Chinese calligraphy http://www.art-virtue.com/styles/

It’s not necessary for a Chinese calligraphy teacher / student and a Mandarin Chinese teacher/student to teach or learn various styles of Chinese calligraphy and 異體字 (variant Chinese characters) unless one is determined to master Chinese linguistics, calligraphy, sinology, seal carving, and/or etymology ( 文字學 ). Please understand that no one is able to memorize all those variant versions of Chinese characters in different calligraphy styles and this video only includes some portion of the different versions of a character and is not intended to confuse a beginner when learning Chinese. The different versions of characters and their brushstroke methods are usually good sources of learning Chinese history and calligraphy and their related subjects.

To search for a specific Chinese character, please use ” Free Chinese Calligraphy Dictionary from www.9610.com ”

山 mountain (Pinyin: shan1)
The styles included in this video are 大篆, 小篆, 隸書, 行草書, and 楷書 and are mostly arranged in chronological order.

Why do Chinese people call Chinese scripts “Chinese characters or Hanji” but not “Chinese symbols?” http://www.art-virtue.com/introduction/

Raggedy Cockerel Rooster. Chinese Bird and Flower Painting. Cockerel/Rooster Paitning

Friday, June 15th, 2012

top chinese painting Its been a long while since I did a Rooster, r a Cockerel as I think we call them.
I find them difficult as their necks can be all sorts of lengths bt it needs to be right……..
The paper is alot of fun to use, as you can see it sucks in the paint with a thirst. I like that.
My white is maries white and used “wet” it doesnt cover the paper very much and I dont really know how to use it otherwise on this paper.
I wonder what other really opaque white I could use instead, or do I layer it or use it thick. ???
I have no idea.
Maybe you just use it like chalk.
He’s cute and he looks lke a roster and as far as I could, I have tried to use the Chinese method.
I love painting the birds.
I hope this entertained.
Best wsihes always.
